Privacy Policy

RideAlign is operated by EquiHalo Equestrian LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("RideAlign," "we," "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use ridealign.app and the RideAlign app, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email becky.j.waldron@gmail.com.
The short version
- Videos are analyzed on your device. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose "Save a copy to my profile."
- Saved clips are kept in private cloud storage that only your account can open.
- We never see or store your card number. Stripe handles payments.
- We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use your videos to train AI models.
Information we collect
Account details. Your email address and a password. We store passwords only as a one-way hash (bcrypt), never in plain text.
Your horses, riders, and results. The names and notes you enter for horses and riders, the points you mark, and the scores and measurements from each analysis. These are stored in your browser. If you're logged in, they're also synced to your account so they're there on your other devices.
Video. By default, video you record or upload is processed in your browser and discarded after scoring. If you choose "Save a copy to my profile," that clip is uploaded to private cloud storage linked to your subscription email. Saved clips can show you, your horse, other people, and your barn, so please only film people who are OK with it.
Subscription and billing. When you subscribe, Stripe collects your payment details. We get your email, plan, add-ons, trial and subscription status, and any promo code you used. We don't get your full card number.
Usage and marketing attribution. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn't use cookies and reports only totals (like pages, referring sites, country, and device type). We also keep a simple log of which campaign link brought each visit (for example, an Instagram post), and we attach that same tag to new accounts and subscriptions so we know which posts work. This log doesn't store your IP address.
Support emails. If you contact us, we keep your message and our reply.
Cookies and local storage
We use one essential cookie, ridealign_session, to keep you logged in for up to 30 days. It's marked HttpOnly and Secure. The app also uses your browser's local storage for your horses, riders, history, subscription status, and the first campaign tag you arrived with. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
How we use information
- To run the app: analyze clips, save your history, sync your devices, and store backups you ask for.
- To manage your subscription, trial, plan limits, and promo codes.
- To send account emails, like password resets and important service notices.
- To answer support requests and fix problems.
- To see which pages and campaigns are working, using totals rather than individual profiles.
- To protect the service, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
Service providers we share with
We share information only with providers that help us run RideAlign, and only as needed for that work:
- Vercel for hosting, private video storage (Vercel Blob), and Web Analytics.
- Neon for the account database (Postgres).
- Stripe for payments, subscriptions, and the billing portal.
- Resend for sending account emails such as password resets.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect anyone's rights or safety, or as part of a sale or merger of the business. If that happens, this policy will still apply to your information. We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law.
How long we keep it
Saved clips follow your plan's rolling retention period, unless you pin a clip as "Keep forever." You can delete a clip any time. We keep account data while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your profile, synced data, and saved clips within 30 days. Stripe may keep billing records for as long as tax and accounting laws require.
Your choices and rights
You can view and edit your horses, riders, and history in the app, delete saved clips, and cancel your subscription in the billing portal. You can delete your account yourself from the Account page. To get a copy of your data, correct it, or ask us to delete it, email becky.j.waldron@gmail.com from your account email address. Depending on where you live, including California, Texas, and the EU/UK, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or move your personal data, and to opt out of certain processing. We'll honor these requests no matter where you live, and we won't treat you differently for using them.
Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, hashed passwords, signed session cookies, and private storage with short-lived signed links for saved video. No system is perfectly secure. If we ever learn of a breach that affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.
Children
RideAlign is meant for adults and for minors using it with a parent or guardian. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Where we process data
RideAlign is based in the United States, and our providers process data in the U.S. By using RideAlign, you understand that your information will be handled there.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, if you have an account, let you know by email or in the app.
