Gait & position analysis, in your pocket

See stride asymmetry, track stride strength, and refine your position — all from one app.

RideAlign turns a short video into clear, data-driven feedback. Screen your horse's stride for symmetry and strength using the same head-nod and hip-hike signs vets look for, or track your own riding position and see exactly how it's improved over time.

Built on the head-nod / hip-hike asymmetry signs used in real veterinary and objective gait-analysis systems.

See it in action

A real clip, tracked by GaitTrace

This is a real trot clip filmed on a phone and run through RideAlign's Legs tracking. The yellow dot follows the front leg and the blue dot follows the hind leg in every frame, and those paths become the stride length and rhythm scores.

Bright, colored leg bands like the ones on this horse give the tracker something distinct to lock onto.

How it works

01

Film

Record 5–15 seconds of side-on footage of your horse or yourself riding, full body in frame. Pick your discipline — Hunter/Jumper, Dressage or Western — and how you want the horse tracked: Poll & hip, colored leg bands, or a dressage movement.

02

Mark & Track

Tap the key points on the first frame — poll and hip, the leg bands, or the rider's head and foot (or let Auto-detect place them). RideAlign learns each marker's color, follows every point across every frame, and asks for a quick check only when it's unsure.

03

Get Results

Tracker slips are cleaned out first, then you get symmetry, stride length, Stride Strength or dressage movement scores for your horse, or Alignment and Stability for your position — plotted against an idealized reference. Horse results end with a strengthening exercise plan for the front end or back end.

What gets tracked

The clinical basis

Vets watch for exactly two things at the trot.

A "head nod" — vertical bob asymmetry between left and right stride halves — signals possible forelimb involvement. A "hip hike" — asymmetric vertical movement of the tuber coxae — signals possible hindlimb involvement. Objective gait-analysis systems used in equine practice quantify both from video, the same way RideAlign does.

Why this matters

Subtle asymmetry and position drift are hard to see in the moment — and easy to track over time.

Mild lameness can be genuinely difficult to catch during a quick look across the paddock, and slow slips in your riding position are just as hard to notice from the saddle. RideAlign gives you a repeatable, objective number for both your horse and yourself, so you notice a trend before it becomes a limp — or a habit.
